Bastard Son is a new twist on the slasher-horror genre that fleshes out it's icon's personality and background. The book draws it's influences from the western slasher films of the 70s and 80s, as well as the more contemporary Japanese extreme cinema, in terms of it's liberal use of blood and gore.
